MAG-LEV in 2050

Beam Powered Vehicles using Low-Level Flight over Guideways!-

While Magnetic Levitation may be a new concept for small vehicles under a 1000 pounds utilizing an Elevated Guideway, in the next forty years, technologies for transportation will have to change once again. Even though the Elevated Guideway has the capacity to move vehicles and freight for a hundred years, the need to grow always looms in the horizon. As Software Technologies and Computing Power become increasingly complex, Mag-Lev Vehicles will be flying up to 15 feet above Elevated Guideways. As Low-Level Flight becomes feasible for these machines, traveling over the ocean becomes real. Even in the early stages (2004), using Elevated Guideway Technology drastically reduces the cost of erecting a bridge! One Elevated Guideway (6 feet wide) is equivalent to 12 freeway lanes (120 feet!) going in one direction only! The land savings alone is nothing to dispute about! A high end cost of $5 Million Dollars a mile is still a fraction of the expense it takes to implement a highway lane.

The Bridge structure pictured here will cost more money to build in today's dollars than in the past, despite the rapid advances and procedures that have been developed in the Civil Engineering Industry.

Another major application that should be considered for rapid deployment is the development of a system that allows Mag-Lev Auto-Bicycles to evacuate out of a high-rise building. The engineering of such a concept is extremely viable, but change has to begin by using Mag-Lev Vehicles as a form of everyday transportation. By instituting a concept that lets patrons of a high-rise building bring their transportation directly up to the floors they work or live on, will provide additional security to them in case of evacuation!

Vehicles that can evacuate from a high-rise structure can be seen in such movies as "The Fifth Element" and "Minority Report". The sad thing about high-rise buildings is that the system you need most is the one thing you cannot use-we are talking about the "elevator"!

Beam Powered Propulsion has been used as a technology in Deep Space for years, and now it is time to capitalize on the many benefits it provides. A concept to beam power from the Deep Space Network down to a centralized Power Station was a plan in the making, but the capital intensive costs and radiation fallout were obstacles that hindered its progress.

Beam powered technologies and satellites have opened up tremendous doors to innovations that would not be possible if the groundwork for these developments have not been implemented. The ability to make a wireless phone call anywhere in the world or see global events as you never saw them before is truly amazing. By now, many people take such things as Satellite Radio and Satellite Television for granted without realizing the remarkable stages that had to take place in order for its development to occur! With all these new innovations coming rapidly to fruition, why not accept the feasibility that Mag-Lev Vehicles will soon be flying directly over Elevated Guideways? The economic opportunities that this new transportation innovation will bring to the world will greatly surpass any developments that already exist!

Guideway Vehicles provide solutions to many problems that Communities are currently facing, the fear is the unknown ripple effects that these technologies create. In the early days, there was the fear of the automobile. In time, that fear soon diminished, and turned into global demand! Another fear was the deregulation of telephone. That change led to innovation such as the Cell Phone and the Internet! The fears of these technologies quickly faded into the past!

Pictured here is a Laser-Guided Vehicle that is carrying product across the factory floor. While these machines cost millions of dollars to design, engineer, program and develop, the universal approach to developing Mag-Lev Auto-Bicycles and global standards on parts drastically reduced its manufacturing costs. A 1" inch shaft anywhere in the world is a 1" inch shaft! Not adapting standards will be the fall of the Automobile Industry!

Technologies that are being studied to this date are Light Sails (see Star Wars-Attack of the Clones), where the ship's chute forms into a propelled sail to guide the craft! Many experiments are being done to test the manipulation of particle matter within the Earth's atmosphere. These technologies are more so designed outside of the atmosphere because of the high concentration of radiation and transmission effects.

Pictured here is a test of a Light Sail done in a laboratory. These kind of research projects are the ones that lead to greater developments that can benefit all of mankind. Taking Magnetic Levitation from an industrial application used to power trains and roller-coasters and bringing it into the household makes mobility affordable to the masses. Operating a Mag-Lev Auto-Bicycle requires about 1/15th the energy needed to operate an automobile! The savings alone reduces the Nations strain on natural resources!

Mag-Lev Technology is being used by NASA as a practical means of launching Space Shuttles. This feature alone will save them over 25% of the fuel required to send Spacecraft into space. A good example for seeing a launch vehicle is in the movie "TimeCop", where the Mag-Lev Vehicle drives through the giant magnetic chute, sending them back into time.

Space elevators and Magnetic Lifting Devices may seem like science fiction, but these technologies are rapidly increasing their approach into our daily lives. Many people may not know that some of the most famous roller-coaster rides utilize these components. As the computer chip eats away at the status of the once mighty internal combustion engine, providing more reliability, fossil fuels will be a thing of the past!

The greatest paradigm shift will be from

"Industrial Age Transportation"

to

"Information Age Transportation!"
